KUMO // LEGAL

Privacy Policy

Last updated: May 2026

KUMO is built private by default. We collect the minimum needed to deliver a clear weather signal — and nothing more. This policy explains what we handle, why, and the controls you have.

01

Information we handle

Location. If you grant access, your approximate or precise location is used only to fetch a forecast for that point. It is sent to our weather provider over an encrypted request and is not stored on our servers.

Identity (optional). If you sign in with Apple, we receive an anonymous user identifier and an optional email relay. We never receive your name unless you choose to share it. Guest mode does not require any identity.

Preferences. Units, saved cities, alert toggles, and accent color are stored locally on your device.

02

What we do not collect

No advertising identifiers. No third-party trackers. No behavioral profiling. No selling of data — ever.

03

Notifications

If you enable weather alerts, KUMO uses Apple Push Notifications to deliver them. The push token is associated only with your saved locations and alert preferences.

04

Third parties

We rely on a weather data provider to deliver forecasts. Only the coordinates of your selected location are sent with each request. No identifiers about you are attached.

05

Your controls

You can revoke location access in iOS Settings, sign out at any time, clear saved cities, and delete your account from within the app. Deletion removes any associated push tokens and identifiers.

06

Data retention

Forecast requests are not logged with personal identifiers. Account-related records (if you signed in) are deleted shortly after you remove your account.

07

Children

KUMO is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them.

08

Changes

If this policy changes materially, we will update this page and adjust the "Last updated" date above.
